Legyon: the new standard for Legionella detection & identification
Using the Legionella chip, the actual hazard posed by potentially-contaminated water to the public health can be assessed within 4 to 6 hours. The advantages of the Legionella chip are as follows:
- It enables very rapid (in 4 to 6 hours) detection of
pathogenic/non-pathogenic Legionella;
- It establishes the presence of Legionella pneumophila;
- It determines Serogroup 1 or 2-14 and Legionella anisa;
- It enables 5 biomarker prediction pathogenic versus environment;
- It ascertains mixed populations of L. pneumophila and L. anisa;
- It detects Legionella with a high degree of accuracy, which is
very useful from the point of view of public health.
